Oil Paintings

Eventhough I have experimented with various media such as water paint, clay, soap, Oil paint on canvas remains my favourite. Here are some of my paintings which I did over the years.
Knight

This is my first Oil painting and hence has a sentimental value. It depicts the victory of Alexander the Great on a city near the river Thebus.
Shadows
shadows.jpg (8 KB)
A study of a river bank bathed in sunshine. The highlight of the leaves and sparkle of the water contrasts against the dark cozy  shadows.
The Hill

All the three forms of water co-exist in this scene as mist, water, and snow. The hill over looks as the river flows quietly.

Predator OR Prey?

Once greatly feared by people, the Indian tiger ruled the jungles. Today its numbers are dwindling and has fallen prey to many a poacher.
Flight

The deer has a great role in Indian mythology and has been admired for being agile and docile. Its presence adds a touch of enigma to the forest scene.

The Loner

The storm clouds build up as the air stands still. The lone but strong tree has a test of survival. Will it survive the storm - only time will tell.
The Brook

The woods when covered with thin morning mist and dew, takes the guise of a romantic garden. The smell of the soil and chirping of the birds add life to it.
The Distant

The distant scene of the clouds blanketing the layers of mountains is blurred by the mist. The flowers in the nearby trees adds color to the sight. The newer trees grow and branch out  when the the older ones wilt off.
